Abstract

<PICT:0610417/IV (c)/1> <PICT:0610417/IV (c)/2> An apparatus for treating hanks or textile articles with dyes or other liquids, whilst suspended from hank poles or the like, includes a container or cage adapted for assembling the goods on the poles preparatory to transfer of the goods in bulk to the tank or vat, which container or cage is provided at opposite sides with horizontal supports of channel form provided with distance pieces at appropriate intervals to locate and maintain the poles in the desired spaced relation. Fig. 1 shows a box-like container A, which is adapted to be suspended in a tank or vat of a dyeing machine with its opposite sides 1 projecting down into the dye liquor, and which is provided with channel supports 4 for the hank poles P. A perforated or reticulated false top 3 is provided for admission of the circulating liquor. The depth of the channel d is greater than that of channel d1 on the opposite side, Fig. 2, to facilitate introduction and removal of the poles. The upper face of the lower flange 6 of each support is provided with a notched metal strip 12 for spacing the hank poles, which may be preferably V-shaped as shown in Fig. 4, and provided with rectangular end-plates fitting into the recesses of the notched strip 12. After the poles have been fitted they are secured in position by means of the angle strip 16 which is lowered on to the poles and held in that position by means of the bolt 18 in a bayonet slot in the side 1.
