Abstract

An apparatus for the treatment of fabrics with a liquid medium comprises a vat 19 for holding a large body of liquid, a vessel 15 above said vat, said vessel having a slot 18 in its base and containing a pair of vertical baffles 17 extending through said slot and into the vat and constituting bounding elements of a vertical passage affording communication between the vessel and a point in the vat below the liquid working level, means for feeding a fabric downwardly into said vessel and between said baffles, means for circulating a liquid from said vat to said vessel and over and down between said baffles so as to impinge on the fabric and carry the latter down into the vat, and means for withdrawing the fabric from the vat. <PICT:0656504/IV (c)/1>
