Abstract
610,285. Electric fires. DENNISON, W. G. G. May 2, 1946, No. 13410. [Class 39(iii)] [Also in Group XIII] In an electric fire having an element 5 set back from the fire front, convection air currents from the element pass into an independently heated enclosure through an opening 11 between the back 8 and front 3 of the fire, and then flow upwards together with convection currents from the heated components of the enclosure to emerge into the room from an opening at or near the top of the enclosure. In the example the enclosure is heated by steam or hot water radiator sections 2 which form one or more flues 17 for the heated air. Wing reflectors 4 are mounted at each side of the element 5 which may have a refractory support 6. The opening 11 may be closable by a damper, and the whole unit may be mounted on legs which define the air inlet to the enclosure, an outlet grille being situated above the fire. One or more separate flues for the convection currents from the fire may be provided in the enclosure. Specification 592,322, [Group XIII], is referred to.
