Abstract

607,737. Boxes. WEBB, D. G., and WEBB, F. E., (trading as WEBB & SONS, G.). Feb. 11, 1946, No. 4182. [Class 18] A box for shoes has a flap b secured to a longitudinal wall of the box by a hinge strip b' and an intermediate strip b<2> and carrying a sheet c of fabric, paper or the like, of width less than the length of the box, that serves for packing and dusting the shoes. An intermediate portion of the shoe c is held flat against the cover flap b by a card frame d secured by steel stitches e, positioned either to clear the material c or to penetrate it. The inner end of the sheet c lies against the wall of the box to which the flap b is hinged and a shoe may be laid upon it, the flap b being folded over' the shoe to rest at an angle to the box bottom. The outer end of the sheet c lies against the other longitudinal box wall and a shoe may be inserted between this end and the flap b, and the extension folded over it. The Provisional Specification also describes a flap of skeleton formation.
