Abstract

606,249. Cushions &c. SMITH, F. May 6, 1946, No. 13602. [Class 52(iv)] Seating upholstery, cushions, &c. have their interior stuffing, springs or other support means and covering material arranged to produce a depression or recess therein adapted to lie between the legs or to register with the spine of a user, the stuffing &c. and the depression progressively increasing in depth from back to front and the depression terminating some distance from the front. Fig. 2 shows a recess F formed in a seating cushion which is constructed with a base frame A, spring B, stuffing C and covering material D. Fig. 3 shows a cushion in which the resilient material comprises cellular rubber B which is formed wedge-shaped. Seats and back rests may be formed integrally and provided with a recess which continues from the seat into the back rest.
