603,034. Ironing by dielectric heating. HOOVER, Ltd. Nov. 16, 1945, No. 30822. Convention date, Nov. 24, 1944. [Class 39(iii)] In an ironing apparatus such as that desscribed in Specification 603,033, where the pressing iron comprises a metal plate capacitively coupled to the electrodes of a high frequency generator, two or more metal plates 29, 30 are provided electrically connected by a thermostatic switch 37 which may be adjusted to open at the desired ironing temperature, to reduce the effective electrode area and heat produced.
