601,718. Breech mechanism. MARTIN, J., and MARTIN-BAKER AIRCRAFT CO., Ltd. May 28, 1946, No. 16107. Addition to 583,257, [Group XXXIII]. [Class 92 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXIII] Cartridge - firing mechanism is both cocked and released in a single action immediately before firing. The cable 22 when pulled, withdraws a sear, which by an incline 23 first lifts the firing-pin 9 to compress the spring 13 and is then pulled out of the slotted end of the pin to release it to be impelled by the spring. The pull to the cable may be given by an aeroplane pilot when drawing a faceblind over himself, the cable 22 being interconnected with the blind.
