Flying toys.-A toy parachute 8, Fig. 3 is carried when collapsed by a holder 12, Fig. 4, that is adapted to be projected by a gun, Fig. 2, the parachute being held in place on the holder by a lever 13 and thread 15, which thread is released by the lever after the parachute has been projected. The parachute is permanently attached by a cord 11 to the holder 12 which may be shaped to represent a human figure. The thread 15 is provided at its free end with a loop adapted to engage a hook formed on one end of the lever 13. During the upward flight of the holder 12 the lever 13 remains parellel to the holder, but at the apex the lever turns under the action of a weight 13a thereby releasing the thread 15 and allowing the parachute to open out. The gun comprises a grooved runway 1, and two lengths of elastic 3 each secured at one end to the runway and at the other to a cross-piece 4. In use, the holder is placed on the runway and the cross-piece 4 is moved into a recess 5 thereby stretching the elastic. The holder is projected by an upward movement of a trigger 7 which engages the crosspiece from the recess. Specification 278,245 is referred to.
