Abstract
596,623. Ploughs. BRISTOL TRACTORS, Ltd., and FIELD, E. July 31, 1945, No. 19578. [Class 6 (i)] To ensure that the plough follows the ploughing instead of the tractor, a guide-wheel is provided for ploughs of the unit and trailing types such as are used in conjunction with tractors. The guide-wheel 1 is mounted at the lower end of a shaft 5, 6 so that its convex face 8 runs against the land side of the previously cut furrow in advance of the plough share. The upper part of the shaft 5, 6 is horizontal and is mounted in bearings 7 transversely across the plough frame 2. The shaft 6 is adjustable laterally across the plough and the ,depth of the guide-wheel can be varied by rotating the shaft 6 and varying the length of the chain 10 supporting the lower part 5 of the shaft.
