596,135. Assembling force fits. YOUNGMAN, Ltd., W. C., and YOUNGMAN, W. C. July 25, 1945, No. 19038. [Class 83 (iv)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A method of making a tubular structure such as a towel airer, consists of providing the elbows, tees and like parts with spigot members 3 and the tubular parts with sockets 1, each having mating surfaces 4, 5 formed with a " mirror " finish and with the diameter of the outer end of the spigot slightly larger than that of the inner end of the socket, partly effecting the joint by hand, and completing it by hydraulic or like pressure so that the end 6 of the socket abuts against the shoulder 7 of the spigot. The members 3 and 1 may be formed without taper.
