Abstract

570,261. Pipe joints. STANLEY, F. R. Dec. 23. 1943, No. 21540. [Class 99 (i)] In a flexible pipe coupling the pipe ends A are formed with ball members B enclosed between the swaged ends F<1> of a sleeve casing F and separated by a double cup washer G which is maintained in contact with the ball members by the pressure of the substance in the piping. The members A may be screwed at D into pipe' lengths E. In a modification, each of the tubular' parts to be coupled has ball ends of different sizes, the casing being shaped to accommodate the larger ball of one part and the smaller one of another part. In this way a length of flexible piping may be built up.
