Abstract

552,862. Pipe joints. PARKER, A. LA R. May 2, 1942, No. 5936.. [Class 99 (i)] In a joint in which the flared end of a'tube 22 is clamped between the conical surfaces 20, 29 of a fitting 10 and a sleeve 24, the sleeve has an extension 31 which engages the shoulder 18 of the fitting to confine the end of the tube and prevent its extrusion into the threads of the coupling nut 11. The fitting has a spigot 23 which extends into the tube beyond its flared portion.
