Abstract
592,532. Thermionic valves. NATIONAL CASH REGISTER CO. May 19, 1944, No. 9732. Convention date, Oct. 10, 1940. [Class 39 (i)] A gas-discharge tube, for use in a circuit such as described in Specification 592,533, comprises a cylindrical anode 14, with cooling fins 15, a co-axially disposed filamentary cathode 34, a trough-shaped control electrode 32, and a cylindrical electrode 22 with an opening 24 between the control electrode and the anode. The edges of the opening 24 are on radial lines with the edges of the trough 32, and the function of the electrode 22 in operation is to collect positive charges produced by the discharge. The electrodes are mounted between mica discs 18, 19. The loop of the filament is supported by a hook 35 fastened to a support, Fig. 2 (not shown), which also supports a shield over the assembly.
