Abstract

592,430. Reinforced concrete. FREYSSINET, E. April 11, 1945, No. 9020. Convention date, Sept. 30, 1941. Addition to 591,218. [Class 20 (iv)] The stressed reinforcing wires 1, Fig. 1, for concrete 3 are anchored between a conical wedge 10 and a mass 4 of concrete embedded in the concrete 3. The mass 4 has a soft steel hoop 5 near its periphery and is lined by a hoop 7 of hard steel coils. The wedge may be formed from a steel core 12, Fig. 3, high strength concrete 11 and contracting coils 13 of hard steel. The coils 13 may be replaced by a corrugated sheet steel sheath. Alternatively the wedge may be made of metal throughout.
