Abstract

775,744. Prestressed concrete. P. S. C. EQUIPMENT, Ltd. Sept. 20, 1955 [March 15, 1955], No. 7514/55. Class 20(4) Anchoring means for securing in the stressed condition reinforcing wires or rods 2 in the construction of prestressed concrete structures comprises a block 3 having apertures 4 through the thickness thereof which are so disposed that the longitudinal axes thereof converge towards one another, each aperture housing the free end of a stressed rod or wire which is secured by means 22, which may be a split tapered sleeve as in Specification 775,743, which co-operate with the block. The wires &c. may be tensioned separately and in turn by a jack as in Specification 764,197.
