Abstract

592,130. Seat bottoms and upholstery. COURTIAL, L. May 17, 1945, No. 12422 Convention date, Nov. 20, 1943. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iv)] [Also in Group XXV] Spiked plates for securing fabric to furniture frames are formed with a plurality of rows of struck-up projections 1, 2, Fig 4, some of which are perpendicular to the plate to penetrate the frame 1 and others are folded to lie parallel to the plate to engage the fabric. Shaped upholstery pads can be mounted on a similarly shaped plate b, Fig 6, having projections 6, 7 to secure the padding and backing fabric t' respectively, the outer line of projections being alternately perpendicular 5 for driving into the frame and parallel 5a to secure the covering fabric e a covering strip 9 being adhesively secured to hide the edge.
