Abstract
518,060. Spring surfaces. HELLER, M. May 22, 1939, No. 15176. Addition to 498,283. [Class 52 (iv)] A resilient surface for seats and the like as described in the parent Specification may comprise supporting plates a, b of mesh. and/or lattice, or the plates a, b may be formed in a single piece and a cushion l secured to the seat supports h. Fig. 3 shows a construction in which the plates a, b are formed in one piece secured by the tensioning members d to the seat supports h, a cushion l of fabric or rubber being secured, as shown, by tensioning members v, m. Fig. 4 shows another form in which the two overlapping plates comprise plates P, Q, R, S, T, U and N, Q, U, O, T, R, respectively which are riveted together. Other forms are described in the parent Specification and, in the case where the plates are in one piece, the central portion may be thickened.
