Abstract
589,047. Valves. EVERLASTING VALVE CO. July 17, 1944, No. 13615. Convention date, Aug. 11, 1943. [Class 135] In a swinging gate type of valve comprising a lever arm 14 pivotally mounted in the valve casing by an actuating shaft 26 and carrying a spring-pressed valve disc 16 co-operating with the outlet passage 22, a shallow circular recess 34 is provided in the face of the valve disc 16 for the reception of lubricant under pressure 'through passages 30, 32 when the valve is 'in the open position which lubricant also acts against the spring 18 to prevent the valve sticking. A second lubricant recess 42 may be provided in the opposite face of the lever arm 14 co-operating with the inlet passage 20 or a second valve disc similar to 16 may be provided for the inlet passage.
