[Class 40 (v)] In a thermionic valve circuit, an impedance is included in the filament connection to reduce the current when the maximum output is not required, the impedance being reduced automatically when full output is required. The circuit described is the same as that described in Specification 588,758, the cathode current of an oscillator valve passing through a control winding of a choke having its main winding connected between the supply and valve filament transformer.
