Abstract

587,958. Magnetrons. BRITISH H THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and MELVILLE, W. S. Nov. 9, 1944, No. 22122. [Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XXXV] high voltage transforrner suitable for producing short duration pulses for R.D.F. equipment embodying magnetrons, comprises windings 2 mounted on ceramic or glass' pillars 4 supported between insulating end-plates 5 abutting against the yokes of a core 1 and is enclosed in a hermetically - sealed casing evacuated to the order of 'one-hundredth of a micron. The casing comprises a copper mounting base 6 having tapered rings 8, 10 to which are sealed glass covers 15, 11. Thimbles 13, 16 are provided for sealing the input and output leads. The transformer and magnetron may be enclosed in a single evacuated case. Specification 547,074 is referred to.
