586,054. Fertilizer distributors. ANTHONY CO. Aug. 28, 1944, No. 16323. Convention date, Feb. 26. [Class 6 (i)] Fertilizer or the like is delivered from a container 1 mounted on a vehicle by a conveyer belt or belts travelling across the open base of the container, to subsidiary hoppers above rotary scattering-devices 54. A slide 22 adjustable by a lever 28 determines the amount discharged by the conveyers 17. A member 62 of triangular cross-section ensures equal distribution to the scattering devices 54. Interchangeable bevel gear sets drive the devices 54 and conveyers 17 from the land wheels, a prime mover on the vehicle, or a tractor. Power take-off shafts on either side of the tractor may be used, the bearing 44 for the shaft 40 being removable to the other end and the shaft slidable. The shafts 49, 49a are enclosed at their upper ends in sleeves 63 having lugs 67 through which passes a pin 68. This pin is hooked to a stem 70 threaded through and adjustable in the casing ; by this means alignment and inclination of the shafts 49, 49a may be varied.
