[Class 78 (iv)] In a travelling crane of the kind having its frame or body portion connected to trolleys running on parallel overhead tracks, the frame is provided with arms having hook-shaped portions which engage freely over transverse members on the trolleys, relative vertical movement between the frame and the trolleys being limited by abutments on the trolleys co-operating with said hook-shaped portions to prevent disengagement of the latter from the transverse members. In the embodiment shown, the lifting tackle is suspended from a beam 10 secured to two channel-frame members 11, each connected by arms 20 to a pair of trolleys 12 running along a gantry 14. Each trolley comprises two plates 15 secured together by bolts 16 passing through spacing sleeves 17. The arms 20 have hook portions 21 fitting over a shallow U-shaped cross bar 24 secured between the plates 15 whereby the trolleys may move laterally relative to the crane to compensate for irregularities in the spacing of the gantries, such movement being limited by plates 26 secured to the portion 21 and having a length less than the distance between the plates 15. The sleeves 17 are so arranged above the arms 20 that the permissible upward movement of the arms is less than the height of the slots 22 in the arms. Specification 566,326 is referred to.
