Abstract
583,350. Friction couplings. COKE, E. C. P., and COOKE, S. E. Oct. 20, 1944, No. 20377. [Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Group VI] A fishing reel 10, runs on a stud 11 and is pressed against a thrust bearing 13 by a nut 20 bearing against a washer 19 with a D-shaped hole, a disc 14 and friction discs 17, 18. A lock nut 21 is provided. Graduations may be marked on the edge of the nut 20 co-acting with a mark on the disc 14, to indicate clutch settings. In Fig. 6, friction discs 57, 58, are pressed against a reel 40 by a cap 59. Rotation of the cap turns a squared spindle 61, upon which is mounted a ring 63, the latter moving along a threaded portion inside a spindle 49, to compress a spring 64. A disc 56 is slidable on pins 55.
