Abstract
581,586. Tubular heat-exchange elements. MORRIS MOTORS, Ltd., and DONO, G. E. July 10, 1944, No. 13157. [Class 64 (iii)] An air, &c., heater comprises annular tubes a, Figs. 1, 3, each formed of sheet-metal plates c secured together at their edges and secured in apertures j' in short flat tubes j projecting from inlet and outlet headers h for the heating fluid, e.g., hot water. The adjacent tubes j are secured together to form transverse partitions across the tubes. The air passes through radial channels formed by corrugated strips g secured between the tubes. In a modification, the annular tubes are formed with transverse ribs k, Fig. 5, and the heating fluid is supplied to, and discharged from, the tubes through slots n in ducts m extending through the tubes. '
