Abstract

580,401. Thermionic valves. M-O VALVE CO., Ltd., BREADXER, R. L., JAMES, E. G., WARREN, G. W., and WIDDOWSON, A. E. June 24, 1942, No. 8681. [Class 39 (i)] The anode 5 and grid 3 of a valve are formed by or directly connected to annular discs 6, 4 sealed through the glass envelope 1 and forming leads to the electrodes ; a rhumbatron may be attached to these discs or they may be flanged for connection to a concentric line 15, 16. The cathode 2 and grid 3 are mounted together on the pinch 8 by which these twc are then inserted in the tube and tin lugs which have been previously attached to the grid are fused to unite the grid plate 20 to the disc 4 when the tube is baked during pumping. A tin washer may be used instead of the lugs. The getter 7 is mounted on the side of the anode remote from the grid, holes being made in the anode. Other grids may be disc-mounted between control grid and anode.
