Abstract

495,417. Thermionic valves. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., and YOUNG, A. J. May 14, 1937, No. 13689. [Class 39 (i)] The foot-tube of a thermionic valve comprises an outer portion 1 and an inner portion 2, to the latter of which the exhaust tube 5 is sealed. The leads 3, 4 are sealed in through the joint between the tubes 2 and 3, and are equally spaced round the seal. The tubes are so proportioned that the tube 5 can be sealed off within the outer tube 1. The electrode system may be supported by a band 7 clamped on the tube 1. The tubes 1 and 2 may be fused together after the tube 5 has been fused to the tube 2.
