Abstract

578,508. Battery lamps. POYNTON, A. S. July 4, 1945, No. 17073. [Class 39 (ii)] An electric torch has an air chamber 4 to cause it to float with the lamp above water. A switching device is constituted by a screw cap 14 which causes a plunger 15 to move the battery; the plunger acts through a rubber disc 13 which makes a watertight joint. The cap is prevented from complete removal by a projection 16 on the plunger which engages a lug in the cap. A diaphragm 20 separates the battery from the air space. Specifications 332,205, [Class 39 (ii)], and 502,821 are referred to.
