575,535. Winding wool &c. HOBBS. S. R., [Representative of CRESER, A. A .T.] March 23, 1944, No. 5393. [Class 120 (ii)] Hand-operated apparatus for winding wool &c. into a ball, &c. embodies a bobbin p rotated about its axis and carried on a rotatable head m, the rotation of the bobbin p being effected by the rotations of the head m through intermeshing sun and planet gear wheels k, u and a worm and worm-wheel s, r; and also includes means for locating a pair of freely rotatable spools 3, 6, carrying the skein, comprising a set of rods 4 engaging one another and adjustably clamped at z to the base a carrying the winding head. The end of theskein to be wound, after being passed through the guide eye y, is anchored to the bobbin p under a tapered rib v.
