Abstract

491,542. Coating yarns. LONGDON & CO., Ltd., F., and RUSSON, G. H. March 9, 1937, No. 6952. [Class 140] [Also in Groups XXV and IX] In a process for the production of wrapped thread from a continuous length of core 10, preferably of rubber and coated, preferably, with latex adhesive, an inelastic wrapping thread 20 is wound on after the adhesive has been applied and before the core touches any other object. The core thread is drawn from a reel 11 through a bath of adhesive 12 and the thread 20 is wound on just before the core enters the hollow vertical spindle of the flyer &c. The thread 20 comes off a package 16 rotated by a pulley 15 and passes through an eye 19 in a flyer arm 18 and round the lip of an inverted funnel 21. The covering process may be repeated.
