Abstract

574,466. Doors. THOMAS, M. H., and UNITED DAIRIES, Ltd. Jan. 20, 1944, No. 1145. [Class 20 (iii)] A door for a cold storage room or the like of the kind comprising facing panels secured to a skeleton frame is provided with a metal strip 20 around the edges forming a lip adapted when the door is closed to engage a gasket 37 situated in a channel in the frame. The hinge arms 21, 22 are extended beyond the perimeter of the door to ensure sufficient movement of all parts of the rim to effect sealing when the door is closed. The strip is preferably extended across the full thickness of the door. The door body consists of right-angle blocks 15 at the corners and diagonal bracing members 18 within an outer frame. Inner and outer handles 25, 26 and a bevelled lug 27 for the latch are provided also a pivoted keeper 28 having a slot engaging a staple 29 for a padlock.
