Abstract
524,296. Windows. HUNTER SASH CO., Inc. Jan. 26, 1939, No. 2711. Convention date, Oct. 28, 1938. [Class 20 (iii)] Relates to panel mountings of the kind described in Specification 497,907, and wherein the panel 3 is held by a rubber strip 11 in a frame 1 having a panel-supporting wall 4 and a ledge 8 in front of the panel, the strip being compressed between the panel and the ledge, and having a skirt 13 extending over the edge of the ledge. According to the invention, the strip is so fabricated that, before insertion, the skirt tends to be closely against the body of the strip, Fig. 3, and therefore grips the ledge 8 when in position. Fig. 6 shows a doublewindow construction particularly for air-conditioned cars. The skirt 13<SP>1</SP> of the strip securing the fixed panel 3 is ribbed to provide a tight seal for the outer hinged panel 17. The latter is normally screwed down on to the seating 13' by screws 24.
