Abstract

572,086. Lenses. DALLMEYER, Ltd., J. H., and LANGTON, B. March 9, 1944, No. 4440. [Class 97 (i)] An objective of the Brucke type (in which the back focus is greater than the focal length) comprises a front negative component consisting of a single positive element followed by a single negative element with an intervening air space having the form of a dispersive lens, and a rear positive component consisting of two members only and formed by a positive doublet element followed by a positive single or doublet element. The contact surface (or surfaces) of the positive component is, or are, preferably convex towards the negative component. Data are given for a lens having an equivalent focal length of 0.52 inches, a back focus of 1.1 inches, and an aperture of F/2.8.
