Abstract
620,635. Optical objectives. KODAK, Ltd. Jan. 24, 1947, No. 2292. Convention date, Feb. 9, 1946. [Class 97 (i)] In an objective consisting of four air-spaced components, the first of which is a positive meniscus convex to the front, the second a negative meniscus convex to the front, the third a positive meniscus and the fourth a meniscus of long focal length, the two latter being concave to the front and enclosing between them an air-space having the shape of a positive meniscus lens, the first and third components each consists of a negative element cemented to the front of a positive element having a refractive index at least 0.04 greater than that of the negative element to which it is cemented, the cemented surfaces of the said positive components being convex to the front. The fourth component may be positive or negative. Data are given for one example of the objective shown, the fourth component being a negative doublet.
