572,080. Injecting fuel. ROVER CO., Ltd., and BOYLE, W. R. March 6, 1944, No. 4136. [Class 7 (iii)] In a fuel supply system in which a pump delivers fuel through a nozzle opening into the induction pipe or cylinder, the fuel outlet, which may have a self-closing valve m, is surrounded by a passage f connected by a pipe j<1> to the exhaust pipe e, the exhaust gases serving to disperse the fuel delivered from the nozzle. The gas may have a whirling motion or throw the fuel against an impact plate. A valve i controls the flow of the exhaust gas and when the nozzle delivers directly into the cylinder, a non-return valve is provided in the passage f.
