567,684. Liquid-fuel burners. McKEAN, J. G. June 12, 1943, No. 9502. [Class 75 (i)] Oil supplied by a pipe 6 to an annular cup comprising a sloping floor 3 and inner and outer walls 2,1, burns with air supplied at atmospheric or higher pressure to the space 15 below the burner supporting plate 13 and directed radially over the burner cup by an air deflector 8 spaced above the inner wall 2 and an outer casing 10 having an inwardly-flanged upper edge l2. The ribs 9 supporting the deflector 8 and ribs 11 between the wall 1 and casing 10 are arranged to cause the air supplied to the cup to whirl. Heat-insulating material 4 may be provided below the cup. An overflow pipe 7 on the cup determines the oil level.
