Abstract
565,507. Flexible pipes. CARR, F. I., and SCOTT, J. H. March 16, 1943, No. 4281. [Class 99 (ii)] [Also in Group II] A feed or delivery pipe p for use between parts having relative gyratory movement, such as the parts a, b of a plansifter or like machine, has its outer ends shaped to coact with partspherical (Fig. 1) conical (Fig. 3) or otherwise shaped elements c d upon the parts having the relative movement. The pipe may consist of telescopic portions g, h separated by a spring i. Fabric or other jointing material may be applied between the parts c, j and d, k. In Fig. 3, the pipe portions have jointing rings m rolling on conical (as shown) or part-spherical members c, d. Or the lower tube h may bear on the interior of a funnel-shaped part d. In another modification, the pipe may be in one piece and one or both of the end elements c, d spring loaded.
