Abstract
564,798. Belt conveyers. WINGFOOT CORPORATION. July 30, 1942, No. 10677. Convention date, Oct. 10, 1941. [Class 78 (i)] A portable conveyer system comprises a number of easily disconnected sections 10, each supported at its centre by a tyre 34 and having at one end adjustable shoring means 60, so as to allow the conveyer to be set up on uneven ground. Each section 10 comprises a pair of channel irons 12 and angle irons 14 connected by braces 20 to make a rigid frame carrying rollers 26, 30 for supporting the travelling belt 28. The middle of each frame is supported by a tyre 34 rotatable in a bracket 38, the angular position of which about a vertical axis 40 is determined at will by means of a clamp (not shown). One end of each section carries a pair of plates 46 provided with holes 50 for adjustably bolting it to an adjoining section. Ground-engaging shoring means 60 are adjustably connected to one end of each section, and may be folded clear of the ground during transport by 'means of the slotted clamping connection of a brace 66 with the channel member 12.
