Abstract

563,073. Cleaning tubes. WHESSOE FOUNDRY & ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and GRANT, A. G. April 15, 1943, No. 6050. [Class 99 (ii)] The tubes of heat exchangers are flushed externally with separate streams of liquid by providing a plate 4 below the upper header 3 to form one or more compartments to which cleaning liquid is supplied, passing therefrom through openings 4a around the tubes. The openings may be annular or may be formed by notches in holes which fit the tubes.
