Abstract
573,603. Separating liquids from gases. MURRAY, A. R. Sept. 27, 1943, No. 15848. [Class 1 (i)] A device for separating liquid from a stream of gas comprises an expansion chamber 10 fitted with baffles 24, to which the gas is supplied through a nozzle 28 having a plurality of apertures 29 which can be regulated in size according to the velocity of the gas stream to produce the appropriate degree of expansion. The regulation may be effected by exchanging the nozzle for another one with apertures of a different size, or the nozzle may comprise two relatively rotatable plates with apertures which can be made to register to a varying degree.
