Abstract
559,706. Folding chairs; seats for children. GRAHAM, F. E., and WOOD, B. G. Sept. 1, 1942, No. 12295. [Class 52 (ii)] A child's chair for placing on a dining-chair and having a tray in front is provided with a distance piece or transverse rail to space the two chair backs apart and is secured in position by strapping the backs together. The child's chair may have a rigid frame but, as shown, is arranged for folding. The distance piece or transverse rail D may be carried by the arm rests G, The securing strap R, owing to its divergence from the back of the child's chair to the larger dining chair back, tends to centralize the small chair. The seat B is pivoted on front uprights E and rests in notches N in inclined members L so as to lock the structure in its operative position. The upright, horizontal and inclined members are connected by pivots and links so that the chair folds substantially flat.
