Abstract
558,980. Invalids' beds. AKTIEBOLAGET SANGFABRIKEN, and ERICSSON, T. L. Nov. 20, 1939, No. 30397. [Class 52 (ii)] In an invalid bedstead the foot end la, Fig. 1, is adjustable in inclination about a pivot 6 by adjusting the U-shaped arms of a lever 7, 10 in relation to a rack 16, the adjustment being effected by gripping simultaneously a cross bar 14 on the foot portion la and an adjacent cross bar 12 operatively connected to the lever 7, 10. The maximum inclination of the foot portion is shown by dot-and-dash lines. The head portion 2 may be adjusted in inclination in known manner by a strut 3. In a modification, Fig. 6, the inclination of the middle portion 1b may also be adjusted about the same pivot 6a as the head portion 2. The middle portion is tilted by means of a link 20 and additional frame 18 manipulated by a cross bar situated adjacent to a cross bar 12a connected to the rack-engaging lever 7, 10. The foot portion 1c may be adjusted angularly in relation to the middle portion 1b by means of a strut pivoted on the frame 18 and engaging a rack 24.
