Abstract

1,094,354. Bed-settees. GENERAL STEEL PRODUCTS Inc. Dec. 7, 1964, No. 49606/64. Heading A4J. In a bed-settee, a frame section 40, at the head of the bed, is pivotally mounted, on bearer links 42, so that it can be tilted up from the plane of links 42 and the remaining inter-articulated sections (30), 32 and 34 and held in this position by struts (142). A latching mechanism (122, 128, 130, Fig. 5, not shown) is operated by a strut (142). After lowering frame section 40, the bed is folded upwardly, from the foot section 34, and the sections (30), 32 and 34 are locked in their folded position, by links 116 being moved over centre with respect to their sliding pivotal connections with section 34, as the leg member 110 is folded flat against the underside of this section. On lowering the folded sections rearwardly into the settee body 14, a linkage 60, 55, 68, 64 and 76 is operated by support levers 50 and 26 to fold leg member 82 against the underside of section (30).
