557,035. Tampons. HALL, H. H., and COTTON DRESSINGS PROPRIETARY, Ltd. Aug. 9, 1940, No. 12791. Convention date, July 15, 1939. [Class 81 (ii)] A tampon for intra-vaginal use comprises a compressed body 1 of absorbent cotton of uniform diameter except at the end which is tapered at 6 as shown in Fig. 4, and having a passage 2A terminating in the tapered end for the reception of an applicator 5. The applicator may be formed with a handle portion having a stop 8 or indicating notch 9 for determining the degree of insertion of the tampon. Specification 527,474 is referred to.
