[Class 6 (i)] A tractor-propelled bush-uprooter consists of a toothed plate or share 7 mounted on cheeks 7b and upwardly inclined arms 7c which are cross-connected by a bar 7d. Pivotpins 10 pass into the cheeks 7b and project from a frame 5, 5b, 5c, 5a, 5d, mounted on trunnions 6, for propulsion by a tractor A. A roller 11 centrally disposed in brackets 12 on the bar 7d engages one of a pair of notches 13a, 13b in the edge of the arm 13c of a bell-crank lever, the other arm 13d of which is upwardly pressed against the action of a spring 14. In its non- acting position the roller 11 rests in the lower notch 13b. On approaching the bush to be uprooted, the cord 16 is pulled to disengage the roller; forward motion of the tractor tips the share until the roller 11 engages the notch 13a, over-lifting being prevented by a chain 17. On withdrawal the roller falls and the share rises to inopertaive position. A bush-pushing frame 18, 18a may be mounted above the uprooting frame. Skids 5e may be mounted on the ends of the frame members 5b, 5c. The notched-lever control may be omitted, the side plates 7b being pivoted to the underside of the frame side-bars and having a series of holes associated with pins to limit the degree of tilt.
