Abstract
494,176. Implements for working land. HUTTON, J. April 24, 1937, No. 11789. [Class 6 (i)] An implement for breaking up the ground between and around plants comprises two tines 4 which can be moved apart by rotation of handles 10 to clear the plants. Fixed tines 3 are provided on the diverging bars 1 which are connected by arched members 2 that are high enough to pass over the plants. Weights may be suspended from hooks 15. The handles 10 are mounted in sockets 9 and are formed with fingers 12 at their lower ends which engage links 13 jointed to lugs 14 formed on rods 5. The rods 5 carry the tines 4 and can slide without rotation in lugs 6 formed on the frame of the implement. Land wheels may be provided to facilitate the use of the implement when drawn by a horse or tractor.
