556,263. Electric torches. DANDRIDGE, G. F. J. Aug. 17, 1942, No. 11494. [Class 39 (ii)] A switch device for a hand torch comprises a sliding contact member g, adapted to complete the lamp circuit by engaging, for example, a metallic reflector c carrying the lamp, a slotted guide k member and a control spring n. The guide member has a slot k<SP>2</SP> to admit a thumb piece on the contact member and lugs m which are bent over to secure the control spring behind the contact member. The assembled parts are then inserted through the upper portion e of a depressed perforation in the torch casing a and the guide member, which fits the depression, is snapped into position whereupon lugs l on the guide member are bent back against the casing to secure, the switch device. On and off positions of the contact member may be defined by a hump h on the contact member engaging depressions n<SP>2</SP> in the control spring. A projection o on the casing may force the end g<SP>1</SP> of the member g into contact with the reflector.
