Abstract

552,528. Feeding sheets. BOBST & FILS SOC. ANON., J. Oct. 7, 1941, No. 12955. Convention date, Oct. 8, 1940. [Class 100 (i)] A sheet-feeding device which is constructed so that the back of the pile is accessible for controlling and loading is constructed with an adjustable supporting member 9 for the sheet separator 10 and feeding member 11 which together coact with a feed band 14 and feed rollers 20 for advancing the sheets in serial or overlapped form to front lays 22. The member 9 is carried by nars 3, 4, Fig. 2 (not shown) which can be adjusted longitudinally in a strong beam 2 joined to side guard portions 1, and held in adjusted position by a locking lever 17. The rollers 20 are suspended by links 21 from the bars 3, 4 and so are adjustable with the supporting member 9. The member 9 also carries adjustable registering abutments for registering the rear edge of the pile. The shaft 13 drives the separating and feeding devices by means of a flexible shaft 12, or by a universal coupling.
