[Class 81 (ii)] Apparatus for supplying heated air for drying the face or hands has the member, e.g. a chamber or a jet, through which the drying air issues, mounted for movement in a definite path between one extreme position, in which the supply of air to the member is cut off, and another extreme position, in which the member receives a supply of air and a switch or valve is provided for controlling the supply of heated air to the member and is actuated automatically to permit air to flow to said member when the latter reaches the second extreme position. As shown the member is in the form of an elongated chamber a into which the arms and hands of the user may be introduced to be dried and is mounted by a pipe f on the pipe e delivering heated air from the heater unit b. The pipe f has a stud i engaging an inclined slot j in the pipe e and when the chamber is swivelled on the pipe e from the inoperative position shown to the operative position it rises on the pipe e and an arcuate bead k on the pipe f engages the switch h to switch on the heater. The heated air is delivered to the chamber through a longitudinal conduit d and slot g, a baffle l ensuring the mixing of the heated air. A branch duct m on the conduit delivers the heated air to dry the face when a flap valve o is moved to close the slot g. Specification 551,793 is referred to.
