Abstract

549,290. Oil burners. ROWLANDSON, E. S. April 30, 1942, No. 5806. [Class 75 (i)] Oil supplied through a pipe 1 to one or more plates 3, 13 adjustably mounted in a sleeve 5 burns with air entering through adjustable tubes 7 in the base and perforations 6 in the wall of the sleeve. The sleeve rests by a flange 9 in the opening of a tapered casing 10 fitted with an air inlet pipe 12. The tubes 7 are arranged below the plate 3 so as to be shrouded thereby. One or more detachable tube sections 11 may be fitted as extensions to the sleeve 5. The feed pipe 1 may be fitted with a drip cup 2 and is positioned by a stop pin or flange 15 engaging the casing 10. The burner may be used in a slow combustion stove, cooking oven, or water heater, the normal air inlets being blanked off so that all the combustion air is supplied through the pipe 12.
