Abstract
547,971. Electric discharge apparatus. BOSCH, F. J. G. VAN DEN, TAPP, E. T. J., and VACUUM-SCIENCE PRODUCTS, Ltd. Feb. 10, 1941, No. 1933/42. Divided out of 547,945. [Class 39 (i)] In electron discharge devices having a number of electrodes, such as electron multipliers, the electrodes are threaded on supporting rods 9 of steatite or other highly refractory material and are spaced by washers 56 of the same material. The rods are formed with a head 54 and are carried on metal legs 58 which may also function as leads for some of the electrodes. The cathode and grid may be housed between two steatite plates 13, 14 mounted on the support rods and arranged as described in Specification 547,945. The secondary electrodes 52 may be constructed as described in Specification 543,106, and may be associated with perforated plates 61. The electrode assembly is mounted in an envelope 60 with seal formed of a concave disc 59 as described in Specification 540,893. The Provisional Specification refers to Specification 516,621.
